ELIZABETH OCHELTREE, LPC

I believe that health and wholeness are fostered by authentic connection- to self, to others, and to the larger web of life. From my perspective, the therapeutic process is about intentionally creating and experiencing connections, especially to one's self, that support the development of resilience and empowerment, and ultimately healing and thriving. I aim to create an alliance with my clients that promotes a feeling of safety so that curiosity, exploration, self-reflection, and connection are possible. In our alliance, my clients and I collaborate to generate self-inspired change that suits their unique life and spirit.

I received a Masters degree in Somatic Counseling from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. My experience working at an outpatient counseling center and as a school-based play therapist has given me the opportunity to work with people from many walks of life, including all ages and those who present a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, relational problems, grief, and self-esteem. I am a certified Synergetic Play Therapist, and I also have training in Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I offer an integrative, body-centered approach that is informed by neurobiology, mindfulness, and each unique client. I am passionate about empowering kids, teens, and adults with the tools of embodiment and connection to support a particular issue or to promote development and thriving, both individually and in relationships.
