KATIE BELL, PHD, LPC, ACS, NCC

Our unique life stories can take unexpected twists and turns that include emotional and physical challenges. These challenging life experiences impact our individual growth and development and play an important role in how we relate to others and build relationships with the greater world around us. I have a thriving passion in helping couples and individuals alike reach their health and healing goals as we face life’s challenges together. Using a person-centered lens with a holistic, and evidence-based approach, I strive to fully attend to each client’s needs, beautifully interweaving clear presence with practiced skill.

It is my goal to meet each individual and couple where they are on life’s journey. I have been trained in a range of modalities including cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness, The Gottman Model, nature-based interventions, and family therapy interventions.

With over a decade of experience in a wide range of settings, my personal journey has given me a deeper understanding that we all have a unique and valuable perspective of the world that needs to be valued and shared. Throughout my previous positions as a counselor, educator, mentor, and outdoor adventure-based activity director, I have provided individual and group counseling sessions to children and adults alike including: resiliency building, stress management, self-esteem building, conflict resolution, responsibility, anger-management, and anxiety management. In addition, as a professor at Mercer University, I have had the opportunity to nurture graduate students as they embark upon their professional careers within their field of counseling.

I hold a Master’s Degree of Science in School Counseling, an Education Specialist Degree with a concentration in Community Counseling and a Doctorate of Philosophy in counselor education and supervision with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia (LPC010872) and National Certified Counselor.
