Carrie fox, Master’s Level intern

I chose this work because I believe that by helping children, parents, and families improve connection, communication, and a sense of belonging and safety, I can make a significant impact on our community’s mental health and overall well-being. I’ve worked with kids and parents through various parts of my journey—from working as a nanny, working in the educational publishing field, leading parenting workshops, acting as president of a Moms Club, being a substitute teacher, and more.

I’m currently a student intern in my last year of the Master’s in Mental Health Counseling program at Antioch University New England. I hold a BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and through my love of literature and stories, I pay special attention to how different aspects of our own life stories can limit or expand our possibilities.

On a personal note, I’m the parent of two young children who endlessly entertain and challenge me. I enjoy reading and listening to audiobooks, hiking, and chatting with friends about TV and movies.

Carrie works under the direct supervision of Christy Burkett, LPC & Director of Gaia Counseling and provides counseling services at a reduced rate.
