Digital Wellness

Supporting healthier relationships with technology

Technology is part of everyday life, supporting learning, connection, and fun. At the same time, it can quietly and gradually shape our habits and routines in ways we may not even notice.  Our Digital Wellness Educator, Ilene Zeff, calls this Digital Drift™—the subtle shift away from intentional living that happens through small, repeated digital behaviors over time.  The goal of her work is to help families recognize and understand these patterns and create more intentional, balanced technology habits for everyone in the household.

Offerings:

Digital Drift™ Family Reset - Assessment

Duration: 45 minutes per session

I work with families to increase awareness of how technology is used in the household—by both children and adults. Parents are introduced to “Digital Drift,” my term for the subtle ways devices and screens can quietly influence daily life.

Families reflect on current screen and technology use, notice areas where “drift” may be occurring, and begin exploring practical strategies to support intentional habits.

Outcome: Parents leave with a clearer understanding of their family’s technology patterns and actionable next steps.

This session can stand alone or serve as the first step in a three-part series for deeper guidance and planning.

Digital Drift™ Family Reset - Three-part Program

Duration: 45 minutes per session

For families seeking structured guidance, this series provides time to explore habits in depth and develop family-wide strategies.

  • Session 1: Observing patterns and identifying areas of digital drift

  • Session 2: Exploring small, practical changes to routines, environment, and rules

  • Session 3: Strengthening relationships and communication around technology, refining strategies

Outcome: Families leave with a clear plan and practical tools to support intentional and balanced technology habits.

Ongoing Digital Drift™ Coaching

Duration: 45 minutes per session

Some families choose to continue meeting to adjust strategies as kids grow, address new challenges, or deepen healthy habits.

Ongoing sessions can include:

  • Navigating new devices, apps, or social media

  • Adjusting routines and household agreements

  • Supporting attention, sleep, and emotional regulation

  • Strengthening connection and communication

Sessions can be scheduled periodically or as new issues arise.

Why It Matters

When screen time becomes a source of tension, it can affect everything from mood to family dynamics. By taking a mindful, compassionate look at technology use, families can:

  • Reduce daily conflict around screens

  • Strengthen communication and connection

  • Support attention, regulation, and emotional balance

  • Reclaim time for shared experiences and rest
