Digital Wellness

Supporting healthier relationships with technology

Technology is woven into nearly every part of family life. While it offers connection, convenience, and learning opportunities, it can also create stress, conflict, and disconnection. Our Digital Wellness Education service helps families bring awareness, balance, and intention to their digital lives.

Our Digital Wellness Educator, Ilene Zeff, provides guidance and practical strategies to help individuals and families build healthier relationships with technology. Through education, coaching, and tailored resources, this service explores digital wellness through awareness, modeling, and boundaries around screen use.

The goal is to reduce stress, strengthen family connections, and support overall well-being in today’s digital world. Many families find that reflecting on digital habits and making small, realistic adjustments leads to improved communication, attention, and emotional regulation—supporting the same goals we work toward in therapy.

The Digital Wellness Check-In

Families can begin with a 45-minute Digital Wellness Check-In, a supportive conversation designed to help parents explore how screen use—by both children and adults—may be affecting daily routines, relationships, and overall well-being.

During this session, Ilene uses a brief questionnaire and guided discussion to help families move through three simple steps:

  • Awareness: noticing current digital habits and their impact

  • Acceptance: understanding that these struggles are common and manageable

  • Action: identifying one or two small, meaningful changes to try

This process is not about judgment or restriction—it’s about creating space for curiosity and connection.

Why It Matters

When screen time becomes a source of tension, it can affect everything from mood to family dynamics. By taking a mindful, compassionate look at technology use, families can:

  • Reduce daily conflict around screens

  • Strengthen communication and connection

  • Support attention, regulation, and emotional balance

  • Reclaim time for shared experiences and rest
