I specialize in play therapy and operate from a humanistic approach when working with children, adolescents, and teens. I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University and a long-standing passion for working with children and families. This passion developed into a professional path as I pursued my undergraduate degree in Psychology and spent over a decade involved in research focusing on various forms of psychopathology. Through my research experiences, I developed a particular interest in children and the complex internal and external factors that can impact emotional and developmental well-being.
While I valued my time in research, I ultimately felt called to more direct, relational work with clients. This led me to transition into counseling, where I discovered a passion for play therapy and supporting children and families through difficult and complex circumstances. My years of research, combined with my clinical experiences working with children who present with complex needs, have given me a unique perspective on understanding the many factors that shape a child’s emotional and behavioral experiences.
I find that play therapy naturally integrates my interest in working with children with my commitment to supporting emotional and developmental growth. Whether a child is working through difficult experiences, navigating new challenges, processing trauma, or simply learning more about themselves, I strive to provide a safe and supportive space where they can feel understood and be themselves.
I am dedicated to creating a warm, supportive environment where children feel safe to express themselves and navigate life’s challenges. I enjoy partnering with families to support children through developmental transitions, challenging experiences, and the unique complexities that come with growing up. My goal is to meet each child where they are, build a trusting relationship, and help them develop the tools and confidence they need to grow and thrive into their next chapters of life!
